I thought it was terrible at straight lines? It didn't have a keel, so it would wander about. Whenever the guns shot, it would steer off line.
oh ya forgot about that. you would think they would have tested it in a water tank, or at least built a model to test but no they went to the full size thing without pause. well it was at least better in a straight line i personally think that could be made to work if you added vanes to the bottom of the hull instead of using a big keel as well as having steering planes in the front and rear. the ship was just very poorly designed though like they thought they could just squish an ironclad into a pancake
It was a great idea as long as you completely ignore the fact that it's a boat. It has a large surface to put lots of guns.
I'm hoping for a collab w/ Varusteleka in some way or form with this.
Well this video was posted by Varusteleka's Facebok page, so I assume there will be.
I really hope they're coming to Finland, I need to meet up with them if they do.
I'm not sure if we're just not on the same page or you made a terrible oversight on your version of the Tsar Tank, because this is all I see it will be doing.
Remove most of tank. Add flails. Keep terrified soldier.
I really hope they're coming to Finland, I need to meet up with them if they do.
Should sub on their Patreon for this info. They'll both be there.
Did he do a meet when he was in the UK? Would have been cool, where he filmed the shooting of the L85A2 (Shrivenham) is only like 30 mins away from me.

Is that a sten magazine?
Is that a sten magazine?
Looks like an M3 magazine. Could be a Sten though - probably depends on what it's chambered for. With the rest of the gun, I'd bet on .45, which would make it an M3 mag, but if it's 9mm I'd guess Sten.

theres still the problem of it getting shot to shit by anyone with a machinegun
theres still the problem of it getting shot to shit by anyone with a machinegun
CAS can support from a long range though. Outside of the effective range of most handheld machineguns. And armouring these to protect against heavy mounted machineguns probably isn't worth it.
theres still the problem of it getting shot to shit by anyone with a machinegun
At the very least, they claim that the cockpit is fully armored. It should protect against small arms fire
But you're fucked if you have a stinger flying towards you
Fuck upgunned cropdusters and civvie-shit, let's get some upgunned transports up in here! ACH-47A. If the AC-47 could hover. Because my point should already have sunk in and your cropduster-bullshit should be cowering in shame over not being even a tenth as awesome, I have decided to end it here and not include the AC-130, AC-119, the various Vietnam and Iraq War guntrucks, the B-17 gunship, the WWII rocket-barges and the convoy-protection-boats.
The entire Thrush attack plane meme probably began from the botched Project Iron Fist that was released to the public a few years ago, in which the plane was probably intended to be used when the sales of the more conventional Hinds or Mi-8s are halted. TBH it'd still be more economical to utilize transport helis as airborne assault crafts, since cropdusters are still slow enough to get flakked anyway. Have a page noting the armed duster: [t]http://i.imgur.com/lLpUBGR.gif[/t]
you know, from what ive read about the ppsh's terrible magazines im supprised this actually worked at all
One jams? Still got another 70!
The drum magazine were known for jamming if filled to the brim, but if it only had 65 rounds in it, it was supposedly a lot more reliable.
The drum magazine were known for jamming if filled to the brim, but if it only had 65 rounds in it, it was supposedly a lot more reliable.
True for pretty much any weapon, really. Download the magazine by 2 rounds and you get a lot more reliability out of it. It's just only really relevant for weapons plagued by feed-related issues in the first place.

It's a very large capacity magazine, that has to feed a lot of rounds very fast. Couple this with the fact that it was produced by several different manufacturers of different qualities. Each gun came with two magazines that fit and fed well, but if you were to use another PPSh-41's magazine, it wouldn't fit as well and jam a lot more.
Daily reminder that the US Army were, at one point, considering a CH-47 gunship setup with two 105mm howitzers strapped to the sides.
To be honest, i they had loaded it with two GAU-8's from the A-10 it probably would of been the créme da la créme of ground suppression.
