3. When have you heard someone ever act like that in slender? Most of the playthroughs I watch have people getting genuinely scared at the end of it.

Well it sounds like he's played the game before. Also why do you guys assume it's going to be multiplayer only? You can still play in singleplayer...
I'm not sure why so many are almost offended that the game is coop. Slender Man isn't something that a company controls go play some other Slender Man mod instead of complaining about one of this mod's core features.
You know, that could actually be a good mechanic. Give Slenderman a power where it makes one of your teammates appear to be him (only occurring when nobody is looking at said teammate), causing you to run away quickly and be separated. Give someone friends to co-operate with in the game and it'll make them feel safer. Rip that feeling away from them suddenly when you trick them into separating, and it'll have a hell of an effect.
I was thinking of a situation where you're talking to your friend over the microphone when you notice he's gone, and you see a slenderman, but you friend doesn't give two shits cause all he's doing is chasing a naked chick in the game.

Remove that and it could be a good mechanic if done right. Having friends with you makes you feel safer, but you can play off that psychology, and scare the players by depriving them of it and ramping up the scares simultaneously.
I think Slender (the indie game) was decently scary, this mod looks to polish that idea and make it perfected with better and more immersive visuals and a Slenderman that appears to do more than just stand still at you.

spooky skellingtons
Seems all the big bois are rating people dumb if they say they found the game scary. I found the game scary.
Action horror maps work because it adds a sense of security when with friends that can be easily broken if they lose eachother or one dies. In a game like this, though, it's not going to work whatsoever. You just know that rather than being terrified, the people in chat will be saying shit like "yo slendanigga what the fuck up where you at busta" and just enjoying it and having fun more than being scared.
I remember me and a friend played a horror mod for Sven coop many years ago, we were joking around for a solid 45 minutes, occasional scares, until we got split up in a dark, scary as fuck bit. Nightmares were had after that until we met up again

I personally think that a clientside and serverside model of Slender would be interesting. If you are with a friend and you tell him you see something, but your friend doesn't, that's mighty creepy. It could also be random to determine if the model is clientside or serverside and the game switches between them so you are not sure if only you are seeing him or everyone.

Give them their feeling of safety, then terrify them with separation anxiety.

It'd essentially be a singeplayer experience, except you'd listen to what the other guy was doing.
Hey, what if instead of one person seeing the other person as slender man, both of them see each other as slender man for a given time period? That would guarantee their separation.
Don't see any sense in everyone's hate for Slender. Sure it's overhyped, but for someone who HASN'T played horror games like Amnesia, it is actually very creepy, and above all else it's free, you can't expect great things from a F2P singleplayer game. I think it's actually a really fun game to play with people around, much like watching a horror film, except it's free and actually involves you. Personally, I think cuntfarts like PewDiePie ruined it for everyone.

A bump. Model for Slender: Source.

I get that he's not meant to be proportional, but there's largely only two kinds of disproportion: the comically grotesque, and the horrifically grotesque. this is the former.

I can't believe this shitty Slenderman thing took off. There are so many better "scary" characters and ideas that people have invented over the years, why does this one stand out.
I can't believe this shitty Slenderman thing took off. There are so many better "scary" characters and ideas that people have invented over the years, why does this one stand out.
Because people like free games.
people should make free games of a better character
