• Hello, My name is Echo. I have seen countless servers run a amazing gamemode developed by the folks over at Cloud Sixteen. It was leaked some time ago and people their hands on it. It would be wise to not run the gamemode as you will DMCA'd by Cloud Sixteen. Just giving you all a heads up.

 • thanks but people really don't care nowadays, it's like what happened with PERP.

 • Don't care? Many servers still run it and get DMCA'd, nearly one every day.

 • I'd like to challenge this, I'm putting up a leaked server as we speak, your move, Echo.

 • But that only really works for USA. If you are hosted in Europe or other similar country’s you don't really have to comply.

Happens with WoW private realms hosted over seas. Not saying its right though to claim copyright on lua script though.
 •
Not saying its right though to claim copyright on lua script though.
Why not? It's still something that he made. It should be his decision if he wants to sell it or not.

Though I personally don't agree with a "pay to use our gamemode" model where in I prefer a "donate to us if you like our gamemode" model. Anyway thats just my input on it. Move the subject back to the topic rather then discuss my whole opinion on the matter.

 • You seem like a typical Conna fanboy. You've even directly ripped off his avatar, I mean, really? You don't think everyone in here knows this already? Stop causing more drama over nonsense that everyone already knows about.
 •
lol copyrighting lua
Some people never learn you know. Copyrighting gmod content is awfully stupid and just begs for it to be leaked all over the net.

 • Gonna get a hold of it, host it here in Scotland, and laugh at shitty DMCAs. In fact I'll host it in America and tell him to fuck off as per packaged .dlls. Internet Badass.

 • Well lets just round it off. He does not have the power or the money to take someone over seas or infact in the USA to court. Its a waste of time / money he will spend not to say that more people will just leak newer copys just to piss him off.

 • How to: A guide on getting people to stop leaking and hosting that leaked gamemode. 1. Do not require payment for gamemode, as this makes leaking pointless, if you must however, do not require over 60$. 2. Do not specifically request for it not to be leaked or 'illegally' hosted, especially on sites such as facepunch, as this will only make people do it more in a direct challenge to you, more so if you purposefully ignored step one. 3. If leaked, accept losses and continue on as you were, taking legal action or making bitch fights on the internet will only increase your leak's popularity and decrease your standing with the opposing side, thus you lose more as you have inflamed the situation. 4. You're all set! PROTIP: Despite popular belief, being a game-mode developer for a community run sand-box game and having a reputation akin to Activision or EA is NOT A GOOD IDEA.

 •
Yes time they should be spending on development instead of raging.
Actually, it's because of people (like you) who upload the Clockwork leak that cause development to slow down. Not because we're "raging" but because we have to deal with people that have a silly hate against our work, we don't force you to use it. If you don't like CloudSixteen don't use our products, we don't force you and neither does anyone else.
 • Being one who used the CW leak and got DMCA'd 3 times for it, also owning the community which Bravo26 happens to be the Head Administrator on, I have to agree with Grist's statement. EDIT: And I regret doing it, cause perhaps you haven't even spoken to Alex Grist or any of the CloudSixteen staff over Steam. They're nice guys, and you people have the combined intelligence of bread mold if you STILL continue to follow your dumb stereotypes you've made of them.
 • CloudSixteen and their gamemodes would be better off dead all it's done is allow kids with no dev skills to run unorginal servers and flood gmod with crap.

 • Actually, in my experience most openaura server operators are old/mature, kids just dont have the patience for serious rp..
