• That thing actually scared me while i was playing on Dustbowl. 1. I decided to try and keep an eye on it, so i placed a camera and turned away. It didn't move. I placed an RT camera and placed a monitor. I think it moved in front of me. 2. I place a PHX window (a couple actually). It moved through them. Try playing with this thing in Ravenholm :D

 •
would anyone care to enlighten me as to how i could replace the model in this? The gnome haunts my dreams as it is =D
[lua] self:SetModel( "models/props/metal_box.mdl" ) self:SetSkin( 1 ) [/lua] Find that in the lua file and you could change it to whatever you want. Edit: This seems awesome but I haven't tested it... I must test it when I get the chance! :D

 •
Where do I find the models?
It depends what model you want... Most are hidden, if not all default models. There is some way to find them, I think it's called gcfscape but I'm not sure it's that.

 •
But if I cannot find the location and name of the models, I cannot place them in the lua text file.
Well I think the path and name of the models is in the spawnlist in Garrys Mod, so you could look there for a wanted model. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

 • Thank goodness they are absolutely perfectly harmless companion cubes. I thought they might try and stab me or somethi... GAH! *Insert appropriate audio effects associated with bodily mutilation through the medium of a knife*. These are epic.

 • weld one to the inside of one of those red containers and throw it in the water, then RUN as far as you can as fast as you can, turn around when you hear a noise, and you got a FEAR cutscene. works best with multiple cubes and lots of fire and blood. EDIT: make sure you nocollide the cube and the container though.
 • what this needs now is some manhack sound effects.. you turn around and it is just a cube... (even scarier in dark room :D)

 • Needs a function so it randomly places itself on tables. Imagine, walk into your base and the cube is just sitting there, on your command console. Edit:
Just like the Earth, no doubt
Indeed. Also, continuing on with these Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy references, can you make it so that the cube beams down in the middle of the Freespace06 city? In plain view? As nobody will notice.

 •
Lol, brilliant. You should make it so if the player it's tracking is looking in the general direction of it it doesn't do anything. Kinda like a "moving bush" that a cartoon character is in
I think I'll try to do this. the bush thing that is.

 • I don't have Portal so I replaced the model with this http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=23673 It's cool, but kinda glitchy with this model... it will be sinking out of the ground. Gold stared

 • I replaced it with one of my own cubes and a few other sounds from games like Stalker, kinda makes it scarier as it is.

 • I laughed, what were to happen if you built an air fortress, then put the cube on the ground

 •
Nice! Something to scare my friends with if they haven't found about about this yet  edit: I found out that it goes all crazy when weld something to it.
I've tried welding it to things, nailing it to things, using ropes and even grabbers to hold it down but nothing can keep this guy from doing absolutely nothing at all to you. It even doesn't escape from being constantly teleported to a far off location and under no circumstances manages to break away and kill you, that's just a silly rumor.

 • Holy fuck, Teta, you're a genius. Just spent a while playing with these things and every time they killed me I almost jumped out of my chair. You've distilled psychological horror into its most elemental, shiny, and pink-heart-covered form.

Lets just say the rants of Father gregori never were this deadly. :uhoh:
