This gamemode is so good, its actually amazing.
For a bomberman clone.
i'm currently having a problem with the gamemode , so me and friends were playing on a melonbomber server , and one of them said that if i type this in the console , i would be able to play in first person : mb_firstperson 1P The problem however , is that i'm now stuck in first person XD i know nothing about gLua coding , so i don't know any solutions to this problem , or commands to swutch back to third person The only solution i can think of deleting my game and re-installing it , but i'm asing first just in case :P

Wow yet another incredible gamemode by Mechanical Mind! I am adding a server. Look forward to future maps. Something like Murder does?
Is there a way to be able to distinguish server staff on the scoreboard?
Is there a way to be able to distinguish server staff on the scoreboard?
Not yet, I'll add something next update.
Since this got bumped already, I have some suggestions: I was trying to figure out how to make custom maps (kinda like what you'd find on bomberman or my personal favourite: bomby) in your system, but since it is all random generated on a grid, it's kinda difficult to add in anything with a diamond/triangle/circular pattern (you know, to mix up the map layouts in more ways than just randomizing the breakable blocks). It's an ingenious system, with map re-sizing and block randomization, but I would love to have some map variety. Seriously, the more I looked through the code, the more impressed I became. The randomized colours for the breakable blocks is awesome, and something I didn't notice until I really started to look. The whole game is incredibly impressive. A quick suggestion, that might work easily in your current system for maps, is the double strength block. A block that takes two normal bombs to blow up, maybe changing colours after the first detonation. Once bombs get more powerful, it could be blown up easier, but it could really alter the start of the game. Also, a player on my server suggested that there should be a powerup that allows you to break the unbreakable blocks. You wouldn't be able to pierce through them, but you could remove the ones immediately beside the bomb. This could lead to massive open areas, but honestly, those would be no different than they are currently, just a few less places to hide. Additionally, it was suggested that having a fire or ice bomb would be cool. Fire bombs would set boxes on fire and destroy them after they burned for 5-10 seconds, and the ice bombs would freeze bombs for a certain time so they can't be destroyed. I'm not sure how you would be able to fit these in, but they would add neat dynamics. An option could be to let players cycle through their powerups that affect the bombs (say with number keys or scroll wheel) to choose the megabomb/firebomb/icebomb etc. Last minute thought: force bomb. Doesn't break any blocks, but pushes everyone away. Could be a fun way to trap opponents. These are all just suggestions, and I love the game as it is (I bought a server just to play it) but you can experiment with all kinds of different options. If people don't like it, they can use your initial release. It is stable and fun without all the bells and whistles, but it would be cool to see what else can be done. My review of this gamemode is easily 10/10 with optimism for whatever else you put into the game.

I just had to wait for the coding contest to be over. I've added double strength crates already and hoping to get different map styles in the next update.
Just an easy question - the powerup spawns - are they always in the same place or are they randomized?
Randomised
The latest gmod update seems to have broken the death messages that appear on the top right when someone dies.
The latest gmod update seems to have broken the death messages that appear on the top right when someone dies.
Yes. It also is causing tons of errors, you can't see explosions or ent_fire anymore it appears. I really hate Gmod updates.
The latest gmod update seems to have broken the death messages that appear on the top right when someone dies.
I've just tested it, works fine on my end. The server you're playing on probably didn't update properly or something like that.
I really hate Gmod updates.
People like you are the reason why Garry stopped updating the game.
Yes. It also is causing tons of errors, you can't see explosions or ent_fire anymore it appears. I really hate Gmod updates.
This GMod update contains several much needed features that have been missing from GMod and alot of fixes for old bugs. You should love the GMod updates as it allows to developers to produce new exciting gamemodes.

There such a thing as working with developers (which happened finally with TTT). So no. It's not updates I hate but the poor way in which he has in the past gone about doing them. Every update doesn't need to break every gamemode and mod.
I'm actually responsible for the issues in this current update. So if there are errors just post them instead of being so negative.
Well I must apologize for one thing. Nothing in melon is broken. I didn't read the error before jumping to conclusions. It was a mod conflict caused AFTER the update. Not a big deal, not your issue. Although off topic: TTT Servers Iron Sights do appear to be broken. Might have just been a single server issue though. Either way, My Apologies. If I find any other errors I'll report them to the correct thread.
So how do you fix the death messages not appearing in the top right corner?
So how do you fix the death messages not appearing in the top right corner?
The messages appear for me, are they not appearing for you?
NO they are not appearing for me and the other servers I joined. I tried reinstalling melonbomber for good measure also with no luck
NO they are not appearing for me and the other servers I joined. I tried reinstalling melonbomber for good measure also with no luck
It appears to be a ULX issue. I'll see what I can do to fix it.
NO they are not appearing for me and the other servers I joined. I tried reinstalling melonbomber for good measure also with no luck
Sorry to do a bump but has any one found out how to fix this yet?
Very fun gamemode. In some of the classic bomberman games, they had a sudden death timer, where after 3 mins (or however long), solid blocks would start appearing around the edge (coming in in a circular pattern) to make the arena smaller, to force the game to end. In one version I played, when you die, you'd be able to throw bombs into the arena from the edge, meaning you could get revenge on who ever killed you :P It also means you're not just sitting there once you die, which is a plus.
So, I'm not very good at this but me and my friends absolutely love this game mode and want to add it to our server... can anyone write a noob friendly tutorial on how to add it? Please and thank you! :D
Awesome gamemode. Only issue I have is the way the spectator code was designed. It seems to break the code for pointshop. Im not sure what the fix is since trails will show on spectators. I also notice this issue with murder as well. I have tried various fixes but doesn't seem to work of course its not your fault if pointshop isn't very compatible LOL. Maybe I can get someone to help me fix it or pay someone. Thanks!
For shits and giggles, i put up a temporary 125 slot Melonbomber server. I dont know if there wont be any lag but its the only thing running on the server computer and the server its running on is a beast. Here's its specs: Intel Xeon E5-1620v2 (4 Cores, 3.9Ghz) 64 GB DDR3 ECC 1600MHz 2x 2 TB SATA3 128 MB Bandwidth Server Location: Eastern Canada
This gamemode really needs fixed and optimized. Whenever your playing this gamemode it just blocks everything on the internet, if you watch a video or download a file or listen to music it just lags the hell out. No other gamemode on garry's mod does this, and also if 2 people on the same network play on it they both lag, it's like it needs to be the only thing on the internet at the time. It's really laggy. No other gamemode does this and we've tested with a lot, 2 gmods on same wifi running we did murder together, gungame together, hide and seek together, ttt, ph etc. This however just hates friends, internet and other things on the internet.
The new GMod update seems to have fixed deaths and even makes players go flying when they die now. Yay :P
This gamemode really needs fixed and optimized. The other day, I even hosted and played an MB server with no issues.
