I don't have any feature maps for them yet, but they definitely work and the matches are awesome. Trying to defend/attack planets is really fun. Spacebuild maps are definitely for expert players though since controlling your melons becomes a bit more difficult.

  • Sure, why not? On another note, since tad2020 is awesome I think we might even be able to have purchasable vehicles/contraptions. I could even make it so you can purchase the mammoth tank I have in the video.

Thanks to Jake's tomfoolery, (man that was annoying) bombs can no longer be spawned near enemy melons. I think I might extend that cannons or some other stuff like outposts or spawnpoints. Any thoughts or opinions on this?

I watched the console and they were complaining for about 20 minutes about how much the server sucked. I asked them why and they responded with "it's too small and there's no room to build". I kind of understood. The map was pretty small. I see the console says they started spawning NPC parts so I join the server to see what is going on and they are like 1 on 1 RPing/building shit out of zombie parts. "What the hell are you doing!?". After I then explained and then demonstrated what the server was for they still had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. Two bans later and I'm left thinking how the hell do I make it more clear what the point of the server is? The maps aren't usually typical build maps. The name is WarMelons:RTS. The unavoidable message of the day explains everything on top of that. There's no way I can code stuff so that idiots can't RP or whatever in the server so I think I might have to appoint some admins. Server going down. Thanks to those who played (properly). I'll try and put up a schedule on when the server will be up. In an effort to stop idiots crying and saying that they can't make quick battles anymore (seriously, it's like two console variables to make everything free), I've added a command that really makes it lazy. Type wmeasymode in the console. No more costs for anything. No more rules for touching stuff (updates the second you use a tool), and no more rules for where stuff can and can't be spawned. Just join team 0 and you can do whatever you want.

  • This is the last addon i installed to gmod, somehow i can't spawn vehicles anymore. I noticed it today. The only thing i did was to install a dedicated server. Help? [b]Edit:[/b] Bump, I confirmed that it is the addon, and i think it is bullshit that i can't use vehicles with the addon activated.

This prevents a lot of stupid shit. Admins can spawn vehicles, but no one else. Changing WM_rules to 0 lets everyone spawn vehicles. I've changed WM_Rules to 0 by default since people dumb enough to cry about "broken stuff" aren't smart enough to know how to turn it off. People smart enough to know how to bind keys and play actual matches will know how to turn it on.

AFTER, I implemented it I started getting lots of similar complaints all of a sudden, which makes no sense. Which is what I was complaining about in my above post. Most of the people who actually post in the thread weren't the culprits who were asking stupid questions. It was the people who keep emailing me or joining the server who refused to even read the popup on starting a map. WM_Rules has worked since it's creation [b]except for one 24ish hour period[/b] where I apparently broke it. [b]During this time NO RULES EVEN EXISTED[/b]. Therefore, no one would complain about turning off rules that didn't exist. Pie_lord, that's why wm_rules went away, because the whole rule file broke and there were no rules at all. So kp3, I never told anyone to fix their problems by telling them to use a command that didn't exist.

I guess i'll just update the svn. I still want to play with you, or someone else.

  • The one thing i think it could do with is some kind of adtapable waepons melon. rather like normal gmod turrets but melons. The cost increasing depending on how high you set those sliders.
