  • Suggestion: Add a toggle for automatic freezing. Also, ragdolls get frozen at origin no matter where you're holding them when it auto-freezes.

I'm not sure why you'd want to turn it off, wouldn't you just toggle the whole thing off? I'll look into the ragdoll thing though, I can see how that would be useful.

Videos and documentation are still to be done though, so if you get confused trying to use it please be patient. The main people who'll benefit right now are the people who have already been taught how to use it, but feel free to play around if you're curious! Please be aware, you'll probably want to turn off SmartSnap if you're going to use this - not only will you not need it, you'll find it gets in the way since this tool has its own automatic snap feature.

Hate having to go to servers just to use some of their awesome tools. I'm one of the people that prefer to build in singleplayer. Now... about ecs... :)

I'm hoping people will like Precision Alignment even more, I really consider it the star of this release thread. As useful as I find Physgun Buildmode, Precision Alignment is really very powerful once you get to grips with it. It sounds like a bold claim, but I think it's like to building what E2 is to Wire; it has all the functionality of many other build tools rolled into one. For example, it can emulate the functionality of easy precision, ballsocket linedraw, easy alignment, or even the advanced stacker if you want it to, and much more on top of those. Also a bit like E2, it has the concept of alignment functions that can be used to do things like average points, align to plane, align rotation, rotation stacking, etc. and you can combine these functions to achieve almost any alignment you can think of. If anyone has suggestions for more functionality in PA, please feel free to post here and I'll see what I can do, although adding documentation/tutorials is top priority for me right now.

  • After I installed this, all players could physgun all players. I'll remove it and see what happens. Yup. Removed it, problem gone. This breaks prop protection as well.

This breaks prop protection as well.[/QUOTE] wow that sounds very strange... what PP are you using? All physgun buildmode does is use the regular physgun hooks, it ought to be PP neutral. EDIT: Oh crap sorry, I edited it to test some of the addon conflicts that were happening in the last version, and forgot to remove a line. I've uploaded a fixed version, shouldn't be any problems now!

You deserve those boxes. Also I can't help but feel you are rubbing your ego a bit with the "best GMod tools" thing in the OP, but physgun buildmode does look pretty cool. And I might take a look at PA, I need something to replace easy precision, as it is a pain in the ass most times.

  • As a Nodex admin (hopefully not as useless, ahem Will), I fully endorse this product. ...Like seriously. PA is the fucking win. Never seen the power of forming precise constraints and providing super-advanced prop manipulation until Wenli showed it to me last week when I came back to GMod. Seriously... Smartsnap just became a kindergarten tool. To those who prefer precise, visual, and advanced manipulation... This tool's for you. A steep learning curve initially, but once that is surmounted, you pretty much become a better and more precise builder. Period. And phys_buildmode? Simple genius. It's good someone FINALLY made it (you'd think someone would make as soon as Gmod 10 came out?). I find myself pressing the keybind to enable it loads of times to move props and provide simple snapping for the phx presets. 10 Thumbs up =D
