•
Possible to use this netmessage?
I'll look into it. [editline]16th January 2011[/editline] That base code is really wrong (it writes the type twice), not sure how that happened. [editline]16th January 2011[/editline] Fixed. I'm fairly sure the message is only used for sv_pure servers, so I'll have to find out how the server requests files to be checked.
 • This video should just about sum my thoughts up:
 • There is an example to remove client ip's from being sent to other clients in game events. This module is amazing.
 • For some reason, whenever I try to create a game (Single or Multiplayer) I'm disconnected... • Yep, gm_sourcenet3 r6b I put all the example files in lua/autorun but even with only basic files it still happens
 •
Yep, gm_sourcenet3 r6b I put all the example files in lua/autorun but even with only basic files it still happens
It seems to be a listen server problem - I'll see what I can do about it.
 • With respect to the VoiceData example, is it possible to grab the data on the server, send it with sockets in binary mode to another server then send it to all clients? The issue I'm having is that I don't know how to get the server to send the mic chat to the clients on the other end. Will I have to create fake player objects? Or is it possible to stream the VoiceData with gm_bass?

 • I love this and all but I'm really sick of my game crashing every time an admin kicks me, do you mind checking it out? EDIT: Not only kicks but, even if I reconnect to the server, instant hl2.exe crash Nothing is modified, your own scripts from the zip file
include( "sn3_base_gameevents.lua" )
is all i used IS CLIENTSIDE EDIT: I modified the scripts a tad bit to not check if it should include server stuff and it worked well.

 •
Can you send me a crash dump? I've never experienced this.
I'm not getting any crash dumps, my game just instantly crashes and nothing is created.
 •
I'm not getting any crash dumps, my game just instantly crashes and nothing is created.
Are you checking in the Steam/dumps directory?
 •
Are you checking in the Steam/dumps directory?
oh haha, Garry must of changed the locations of them or steam, I never noticed that they were meant to be in steam, in my servers they're always in a folder called dumps next to srcds.exe Also it's my retardisim on trying to be funny with a stupid ip address sent. Thanks though!
 • A very dumb question. Can this be used to replace the default source engine upload speed to higher/lower? I don't want to use sv_downloadurl, but still want for people to be able to download various files as fast as possible, so can this do that?

[editline]4th March 2011[/editline]
Are you checking in the Steam/dumps directory?
I don't find dumps remotely usable to find crashes, but opening them in n++ is probably not the best thing to do. How would I open them properly?
 •
I don't find dumps remotely usable to find crashes, but opening them in n++ is probably not the best thing to do. How would I open them properly?
They aren't that useful without symbols, but you can use Microsoft Visual Studio to get a basic summary of the crash.
 • I'm getting crashes after being kicked, I'm using the strip ip script you had in your examples and it seems to be crashing my game, here is an image from the dump log: Some more info: I removed the hook from the file and restarted gmod with the default files, no extra's just base stuff and it still seems to crash my game after being kicked from a server, I believe it also does this when the map changes and you're connected to the server.
 •
You know it's serverside right?
Still without the stripip one it crashes.
