• Garry's Mod 13 Keys - Grab one

 •
why is this not free? for everone that have garrysmod on steam..?
This has been asked more times than there have ever been keys available. Garry only wants people who's active in GMod to have a key so he can fix bugs and get requests for stuff for GMod 13. If it was public for GMod people, it'd be "hey, this is pretty cool" then about 1-2 hours later "oh well, that was fun" and then they won't ever start it up again.

 • I know that feeling... But now I'm in and the development can continue :]
 • I'm pretty sure GMod 13 doesn't have an fixed release date set; instead, Garry's implementing new features (and fixing bugs) on the fly.

 • The only annoying thing I find is that its done on a time basis, I dev a lot when I'm not working but I don't have gmod open in the background because I don't need it open, therefore the time dosn't rank up, therefore should I just leave GMod open from now on? What stops kids that don't dev from doing this and just want it to have it?
 • Well, frosty802, I've got good news and bad news. Good news: It's no longer time-based. Bad news: Now you actually need ToyBox score of 10,000 in order to get into the beta. Off to go scripting useless weapons and ents! :eng101:

 • Why would you need to have played for the last 2 weeks? Like 1100 hours played isn't enough to be able to help with beta testing. Edit: Just noticed above post. I take it all bugs except from the custom content is fixed in Garry's Mod 13.

Switching it around for a bit hurts nothing.

Switching it around for a bit hurts nothing.
But I don't use ToyBox, I don't make stupid scripted weapons. There either administration mods, gamemodes or nice little scripts for other communities. For instance Catalyst-Gaming uses my FSAMod and GmodTheatre uses my HUD I made for them. Now as expected the FSAMod breaks in GMod 13 and just because I don't release silly ents on ToyBox or have hours of play time I can't fix it in time for the release meaning servers that use my stuff will have to wait for a fix.
 • What the... Why garry you dont make it like if we have more than 2000 total hours played we can have a key ? or why you didnt make a svn like the beta from the Gmod 10 Beta. At this point what is the point to not let us try the beta. What can be happening if some one have the Beta whitout experience in Lua ? If you do this I am sure alot of people stop to ask a key all of the day.
 • It seems nothing will satisfy the masses.
But I don't use ToyBox, I don't make stupid scripted weapons. He only made this toybox-enforcement-change after the massive shitstorms which ensued every time garry posted keys on IRC yesterday. A lot of people complained, annoyed and begged for keys because they were "lau coders".

 • I am active, i just need a higher toybox score :( Edit: You don't qualify Sorry, your toybox score is too low. It's 0 and you need 10,000 to get a key. Garry please, please can i have one.

 •
It says something about a toybox score..
If you upload a save, entity, weapon, and your save gets like 99999 downloads you have 99,999 points

 • Basically all Garry is doing is keeping idiots out of the Beta (essentially). He needs people who can report consistently, and let's face it, all the kids around here would do is use the new ragdoll tools and say, "LOL look at the engineer pose I made!" Which wouldn't really help fix bugs. I would LIKE a key, but I personally know I've got limited Lua experience and won't be of much use to the beta. I'll simply wait, shouldn't be TOO much longer before we've all got it.
