• Well, the addition of manual noding is confusing for some since they don't know why it was done (I do). What I find mildly annoying is that if I 1. Spawn Node1 2. Spawn Node2 3. Delete Node1 Then spawn another node, it will be Node3 instead of Node1 (since Node1 is deleted, I would expect it's slot to be freed as well).

 • Too many things. I liked ls2 better in the fact that you could actually build small ships with small life support, now, you have to make this whole complex system that takes 10 props to get anything going.

 • Wow.. give a central hub to coordinate everything and the world comes to an end, eh? Uberman, I created a simple ship life support system, i had a valve, a node, 1 oxygen tank, one nitrogen tank and one battery. Easy, what's so hard about that? The self sufficiency bugs are gone, so small ships can't survive without motherships anymore. That's good.

 • What about resource-consuming thrusters? If they run out of juice after a few seconds, there's no reason to use them. A fighter must be able to carry enough fuel for a few minutes and fighters are too small to use bigger tanks.

 • Then you would have always faced the same problem in SB2, the only change between 2 and 3 was the addition of a "resource node" to act as a central hub.

 • The thing that bothers me with it at the moment is that there are resources that don't really have any uses. I know that people complain about how there's too many things but that isn't really a problem since the old stuff is still there, so I say add more stuff that you don't need to survive but can help, to add a bit more variety to things. EDIT: Also only the main LS3 stuff works for me the extra stuff like oil doesn't work.

They're still WIPs.

 • An idea I had for a while: have you guys ever thought about making some ambient music playing while SB gamemode is selected? I was thinking about something along the lines of this:

 • Avatar of amitakartok
 • Sorry, but it is one of the only decent space RTS games I ever player and if I have to be biased, I'll be biased towards Haegemonia which was made by guys from my own country than towards Homeworld. And I selected this music in particular because a drumroll-ed epic stuff would be annoying if it would've gone for hours, not to mention that it would prevent you from fully focusing on your work of building ships and blasting the living crap out of others. •
Update changelog: http://www.snakesvx.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=71&p=247 What's new or changed in SB3?
speaking of changes, i suggest that any breakable props will explode in space and any ignitable props will combust if they get too close to hot planets or like that one map that has an actual physical sun, and metal props will over heat or melt (if its that hot though you should die lol)

 • What's this message continually popping up on SB3 since the last update about it being changed to an addon? The message looked like it was written by someone who has english as their second language and didn't make much sense to me and my friends. From what i can tell, SB3/LS3/RD3/ and all teh rest are being turned into a single addon that uses a single SVN link, is that right?
 • Avatar of BoxMonster
 • If you look in the console when the message pops up, it has a MUCH better explanation. And I'm pretty psyched for it, because I think that making SB3 into an addon will prevent save files in SB from screwing up. Anyways, can anybody point me to the download/SVN when it's available...? And no, I think it's just SB3 being converted; the others will still be separate. I think.

 • ... So all that needs to be done is move your SB3 SVN out of gamemodes and into addons when it's released?

 •
... So all that needs to be done is move your SB3 SVN out of gamemodes and into addons when it's released?
Well it will be a seperate svn to avoid problems. The SB3 svn will have a 'Dummy' SVN in it, so servers who want to can still use something to show they are using SB3 instead of only the TAG that will be Added. Sorry, if the message isn't to clear or shows a bit to much, but I was in sort of a hurry when I put it in. I just wanted to make sure Server Owners are aware of what's going to happen. Since most don't seem to read the SVN log at all... PS/ If you are checking the Custom Addons (LS, RD, ...) SVN out together, instead of all of the seperate, you should get the SB addon already once I commit it. It's going to be put on the same svn as those ;)

 • If you aren't already aware, the svn update that was due today at 19:00 GMT+1 has not yet happend. When snake is next online this should happen as he will be on standby in case of bugs.

 • Spacebuild Gamemode is a Dummy Gamemode now on the svn. The Addon can be found on this svn: http://customaddons.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/Spacebuild
 • Avatar of BoxMonster
 • Get rid of all of your old SpaceBuild stuff from gamemodes, then shove the new SB SVN into addons, and fire it up. LS/RD stay the same, and you don't need to change the gamemode to SB3 any more (which is nice, because I'd always forget xP).

 • Okay, before you read any of this, because let me say I haven't tried any of the 3's (Spacebuild, Life Support, Resouce Distribution) yet. Okay, first question; Now that SB3 is an addon and doesn't have to be selected as a gamemode, can I still play Spacebuild 2? Second; What will happen if I try to play (for example) Gooniverse, in Sandbox? Will I have to set up Life Support stuff to go in Space/certain planets? Finally; With LS3 and RD3, are they the same the stuff as LS2 and RD2, just with improved code? (and can I use them with Spacebuild 2?)
