• Lighting in GMod and Mods in General

  • I already made a post about this problem I was having. But now it is also appearing in mods I play. The best way to describe it is like this. I'm in a lit room, but objects in the room are completely dark. For an example:[url]http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/4549/hl22012080500471464.png[/url] That picture from Nightmare House 2 sums up my problem nicely. The door and piece of equipment you see are completely dark in contrast to the lit walls. Here's another from Opposing Force 2:[url]http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/1689/hl22012080514321862.png[/url] My weapon is completely dark. Though that may be because I'm standing under a ledge hiding from a Gunship. Maybe it will help if I say something about a problem with Half-Life 2 I had: After installing Half-Life 2 and playing all the way through to the end of Water Hazard, defeating the Hunter Chopper, opening the dam gate and driving the air boat through the opening, the game stops and loads the next level, Black Mesa East. Up until now the lighting had been fine. But once the game loaded Black Mesa East, everything was fully lit as if I had typed in "mat_fullbright 1" in the console(and typing mat_fullbright 0 does nothing). So, I looked through the Face punch forums and found a fix for the lighting:[url]http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=959218[/url] That worked for Half-Life 2, but I don't know if this applies here. Just thought I should mention it. Who knows, maybe it's just my computer or maybe the mod itself (though I don't think I had this problem before). Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?   • Try the same fix for Half-Life 2 then? Garry's Mod uses the Orange Box engine which is what Half-Life 2 and Episodes are now also using. Should work if it works on HL2 most of the time I'd assume.
