  • [B]Last Update;[/B] 31th May 2011 [Release] [B]GMod Civilizations[/B] (GMC) was originally suggested by Streptovsky (AKA Telepethi ). Each character has a specific role in society, they work up their skills in areas such as farming, mining, lumbering, blacksmithing, etc... These characters are given the choice to move into another town, or try to create their own. GMC has a wide range of choices and different gameplay options for the player, including 6 skills (so far, many more are planned...). The gameplay is completely player based, they build the towns and cities, create trade routes with one and other, or ravage each other's land in wars and raids.   • I know the leader well enough when I say no, and that I personally am offended by the offer. Gmod Civilizations has been my brain-child for over 2-3 years now. I've been working on the information, rewriting it, cultivating it, etc.

  • Yeah, although our gamemodes are very much alike, they have been created in very different ways, so I'll have to say no. Sorry.

  • Would be cool if the buildings took some time to build and to speed them up several poeple build that building. E.g. Each wall segment could take 5-10 minutes with one person building it. This would make poeple have to work together and organise stuff to get everything built as fast as possible. Tomorrow i'll write a short but detailed paragraph of a few suggestions i have. Been waiting for a gamemode like this for ages.

  • As it is, the buildings are going to take a while to make because of the materials and money required. You can build it in segments, or all at once, but by no means do they just plop down.

  • That's good to hear, When your building other buildings other than walls, such as a house, will they rise out the ground like the walls? Goddamn typing took me 2 edits to get rid of typos.

  • I like the idea of that, nice work. Everything seems to be going well. Another question(Hehe): Would there be roaming npcs around the map that prevent poeple from expanding until killed?

  • Really glad to see you guys made a thread on this. About those buildings, yeah, they don't look great, but they do get the job done. I'd say the worst part is how badly scaled the textures are. They look very blurry from the scale you've set them to.
  • Is any of the stuff working yet? ( Sorry :'( ) or do we hav't to wait before we can play this AWSOME Gamemode? Unlike The-Middle-Ages that was readdy even though it was buggy? I just wanna play! And please make non EP2 Trees? MAYBE non EP1... Copy the HL2 trees and add leaves to them. :D .Done!

Copy the HL2 trees and add leaves to them. :D .Done![/QUOTE] As far as I know (last time I tested) what's working is: Some building construction (doesn't require resources yet) Cutting trees down (Not finished, right now it just dissapears and gives wood) Mining rocks (No ore, just rocks.) Moving resources Carts, but they're kind of buggy That was a few weeks ago. I don't know what Mccormack has done since then And sorry, EP2 trees are very prevalent in this. We want the forests to look alive. Not dead. Honestly though you should have EP2 by now it barely costs anything.

As for f1, f2, f3, f4, etc. Yeah that's because there's not much gamemode code itself present yet.

There are many different planned crops, and yes of course watermelons are among them but they're not exactly important. Not a lot you can do with watermelons. As far as new players, they'll be unskilled peasants.
