Much better than your last one. Many of your shots were very good, but some of them felt too jittery, or I would even say too "video-gamey" (not sure if that makes sense). Still, good music complimented the silence of the movie, also I didn't think the video looked too dark at...
Honestly, not very good. The beginning static shot with the two players walking was incredibly unexciting. Also the fly by cams over the npcs battle are about as generic a way to present those as possible. Spice up the editing and the camera shots. Also I saw the hud in one ...
The airport level in Call of Duty?
Thomas Newman didn't create the music that you used for this?
Interesting, pretty good for a first. I didn't get the change in setting though, but the camera angles were good. Also, you should put Thomas Newman's name in the credits.
I think Saren's checking out her cleavage.
The music made this more interesting than the last one, but I would say you definitely need to work on the presentation aspect. There was one shot in here that lasted maybe 10 or 15 seconds, and it was just of a hill, no objects. I'd recommend something like the cat-mull rom...
Those look like wave impacts.
Or more like "Topic Creator".
For some reason, the users on this site find it odd whenever I use that term...
DemonSkull, those are the funniest pictures I've seen all day. Also, TC, good job on the picture.
This is great.
This is incredible. The lighting and the detail make this look more like Crysis, than anything Gmod.
The Thing? I was thinking of a necromorph from Dead Space. Good pic! Kudos to you.
That's where Dead Space got it from. "Damnit Childs, torch it!". Awesome job.
It would be awesome with this on a multiplayer server. Building at the bottom of the hill, the map starts shaking... look up the hill... Lost connection to server.
That reminds me of the mountain scene in the movie "2012".
"Directed by Ridley Scott" lol, cool poster.
Good edit, though it needs to be more noir-ish. Maybe like a neon sign glowing in the background, or graffiti on the walls, something to increase the atmosphere more.
I like it.
One black bar bigger than the other? lol The texture on that Prawn is horrible, its a pitty that the D9 project died. The angle looks fine and the posing is ok, but the lack of fingerposing is just plain awful.
Are they going to release the...
I swear, I've seen a picture very similar to this one before. I think it was Louis in front of the camera though.
I agree, I was hoping for a real dirty and muddy WW1 type look.
Wow, I think the angle is amazing.
That pirate looks high. Better for him then. Nice pic but did you forget to eye pose the soldier? He doesn't seem to be looking at the pirate but more over his shoulders.
I would say that it looks fine. This is just a snapshot, so in the mom...
The angle is what really makes this interesting.
This is awesome. Your pictures are more original than 90% of the stuff that is posted everyday (if I see another Soap shooting off-screen picture, I'm going to gouge my eyes out). Please keep doing these.
I think it probably would have been funnier if you incorporated racism into it.
Well, I didn't see any white guys playing basketball in there...
I can't shake the idea that the guy on the left, looks like he's about to aim at his friend. Perhaps that's intentional, it would explain the devious-looking smirk on his face...
Sorry, but this is hilarious. The posing on the other guy is terrible, it looks like he's waiting for a high-five that he will never get. The map looks very dull (at least that specific spot does), and the guys inside are posed in a way that's just bad. At least Ghost looks ...
That looks sweet.
This was pretty cool. I like how you used the screen shot as a final conclusion to what had happened.
Wow, just wow.
It looks like the perfect map for Croc.
If only we could make a movie with those effects.
This is awesome. I like your sci-fi ideas a lot.
Camera angle sucks. Bring it in.
That, or bring it out. It would make the picture look more atmospheric if there was a massive world of darkness around him, and we only see a small figure with a small flare light, lost right in the middle...
Very unique looking sci-fi.
Ohh that game with those vehicles that leave red/green lines behind them? Pff I forgot completely about it.
The game? Don't you mean the movie?
That's interesting. But I don't remember it raining in Children of Men, despite that everything was muddy and wet though. Something about the posing is not right either.
This is pretty cool.
Pretty good. Reminds me of Avatar or Halo.
Yes because I'm French
For all I know, you could be from Ethiopia... Anyway, the tutorial is informative (when it's not unintelligible).
Um, is that your real accent?
Since it looks like you used Sony Vegas to edit your movie, you can easily use that to create a zoom effect.
Very simple, but not bad. Would have been better with 50's music though.
No / in the first media bracket
The effects look top notch here.
Yeah, I mean, I know it's not really that great. But I guess my PC didn't want to run the game smoothly, so I wasn't able to fight with them, which is what I wanted to do. It's not supposed to be awesome, you know? Just messing around and tried t...
Honestly, this was really bad. This is as basic as npc battles get. Flatgrass, laggy, one camera angle for the most part. The only thing decent at best, was when you tried to do a 1st person perspective. I wouldn't recommend doing another one of these, not many people like t...
I really liked the quality of the video, it looked really good, especially the map.
Nice idea. I thought this was going to be another unoriginal/generic zombie pic, so this is funny. You should make some more (and have more house wives in them).
I don't like the choice for the new background, this would have been a lot better, but there were also some other ones that would have been perfect, specifically Vman's and Illwrath's. Oh well...
It's called gm_flatgrass.
Oh sorry man! "Me liked picture so much, me had to comment immediately. Me forgetting to read post!" (caveman voice).
You seriously made a topic for this?
Funny, probably could have been shorter though (who can stare at that for very long?).
Nice. What map is that? That asteroid belt looks really cool, I just hope it's not our moon in the future, lol.
For a second, I thought the title read "Ghost choking on a Russian..."
Lol, that was interesting.
Actually, the competition gave me what I wanted really, the video got a few thousand views in two days. I'll think I'll just aim at making bigger and better movies.
You're right, but I'm afraid I'll dedicate so much time to something so (hopefully) cool and awesome, but it will barely get attention, and I might have spent so much time, only for such a little response. Lol honestly, I think I die a little inside when I see a video of som...
Thanks. I might make more movies, but I'm seriously reconsidering the types of movies I'm going to make. This type just doesn't seem to get much attention.
Hey guys, my video just got in the top 5 for the "best use of dynamite" contest. If you like this one the most, you can now vote for it! EDIT: Never mind.
Like I said, try the "Smooth" thing, instead of Linear. Never tried it myself, but smooth and quick shaking might look better. And watch the copy-pasting, at one point i could see it was going back and forth, like diagonal up diagonal down diagonal u...
Yeah, about the shaky cam. The truth behind that really has to do with the fact that much of the movie was poses, so if I hadn't use some type of kinetic movement in the camera, you might have laughed at how dull it looked. Though next time, I will shake less, lol. Personally...
Thanks. The original idea for this was much more "2001"-like, including the same music and the air toss transition, but I ultimately ended up making it it's own thing.
machinimas don't get attention unless they're fairly long.
Or if they're made by me, lol. Thanks for the comments.
An Explosive History
Alright, I put almost everything I've got into this, so I wanted to post it here as well. I have never worked harder on a video than on this one. I really hope you guys enjoy it.
Good Job. I notice Nick is getting a lot of attention lately...
This is cool, I've never seen either of those models.
Heh, your editor management skills are a lot less messy than mine. This is pretty ambitious, so I give you credit all ready- I would personally never even attempt to make something this long.
I like it, except for the way the closest guy to the camera looks. He's holding that grenade like he's going to talk into it.
That's probably the most disgusting looking zombie model I have ever seen. God damn, Valve.
Last one is my favorite.
The meaning of the term "movie magic" must have changed then.
Had to stop watching it. Sorry, but this is practically unintelligible. Like I said about your first one, the voice is abysmal.
Never seen it. I apologize.
Really!? I thought that's what you were referencing when you said the grass wasn't cut for three years.
It was an "I am Legend" reference.
"Bionic Bunny Bitch"? Rofl. Funny pic.
3 years without anyone to cut the weeds.
Where's his dog?
This is great.
Haha, I knew I'd be hearing this song when I saw that pic.
Hey, that was pretty nice. I liked the shaky cam, I thought it was effective and got the Saving Private Ryan look down (it's obvious keyframing was not used). I also liked how you removed a lot of the colors, it gave it a Flags of our Fathers feel. It's not even remotely easy...
If you pay attention, usually the ones done by just one person feel unfinished and lacking that special something. Plus, when did you last see a good machinima with just one person?
This is not always true. If anything, if you make ...
Anyone else notice how Chris Redfield looks like Paul Walker on super mutant steroids?
Next time, try spicing it up with much faster and flashier editing. Hell, you could even make it some type of cool music video with the reverse clips going really quickly with the song.
I bet some lua scripts out there does this
Indeed there is. http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=56328. Not only with that make your camera "move", but it will move in a way so smooth and cinematic, that it would have be...
Hm, it worked. Not sure if the other full version file I had tried to use was the problem, if so than forget what I said, the guy's link works fine.
Full Fraps: http://dl082.zshare.net/download/668901327542578f2defa55e914a6be5/1257179669/67695675/Fraps%20v2.9.8%20Build%207777%20Final%20Pre-Cracked%20By%20ChattChitto.exe
I'm not sure if you can get any kind of illegal full versio...
Oh my god. The voice was the most annoying thing I have ever heard. People here don't like slide-shows, so make it an actual video next time. I'm honest not really sure what else I can say about this, sorry, it was just bad. Better luck next time though.
It seems the game hasn't even come out yet, and people are already making the characters into retards...
It was basically just edited Hl2 footage, with a speech we've all heard before, but it was still done fairly well. In fact, it was probably the best use of the speech I've seen so far in a Gmod video.
Haha, very good.
I like the idea, but I don't think many users here will get it.
Haha, you're not kidding.
Would have been even greater if the other one was Jango, somehow...
